Ponytail Palm trees, Beaucarnea recurvata, are some of the easiest plants to care for and difficult to kill. They’re so easy to grow, it makes them great for beginners. Just don’t over-water it and this plant is nearly indestructible.

This best-selling houseplants are most popular as an ornamental plant. They are not a typical palm tree. In fact, they are not closely related to most palm trees. They are slow growers but can get up to 3 feet tall as a houseplant.

The most striking feature of the Ponytail Palm is the swollen base of the trunk. The texture of the trunk looks and feels scaly like the foot of an elephant and is also known as Elephants Foot. The extraordinary thickening of the trunk serves as a water reservoir against dry spells, This allows the tree to go up to four weeks without water.
