Fiddle Leaf Figs, Ficus lyrata, have large, dark green leaves that are considered violin-shaped, thus the name. Fiddle Leaf Fig trees are lush, tall, columnar and sculptural and it’s the hottest indoor plant right now. They will not produce figs, it is technically not a fig but a ficus tree.

Fiddle Leaf Fig is considered a tough plant that adapts easily to conditions. It is easier to grow and maintain then most other indoor ficus trees. Once acclimated they can grow to 6 feet tall or taller.  Most Fiddle leaf figs are sold as trees with the lower leaves removed to expose the stem 'trunk'.

You can buy Fiddle Leaf Figs as bushes, without the pruning. Other nurseries  will grow 2 to 3 plants in one pot and call them a Fiddle Leaf Fig bush.  There's also Little Leaf Figs which are more compact and better suited for smaller areas.
