Description
Enjoy a Classic Elegance With the Blue Point Juniper Unique Color
Blue Point Junipers are hardy, deer-resistant, pyramidal evergreens with a blue-green color. Blue Point Juniper is referred to as both a tree and a shrub. Junipers are conifers, meaning they do produce cones. The Blue Point also produces blue berries but both the cones and berries are hardly noticeable.
This Juniper can handle cold winters, hot summers, and even shady areas. Its dense foliage makes this Juniper a great windbreak and privacy screen. Their growth rate is considered moderate, roughly 1 to 2 feet per year once established. Plant them about 3 to 4 feet apart to create a thick privacy screen.
These Juniper shrubs are popular as a privacy screen for people who have less space. Many of the popular privacy trees, such as the Green Giant Arborvitae (thuja) can get more than 20 feet wide. A Blue Point Juniper only gets to about 6 feet wide with a great height for privacy growing 12 to 14 feet tall.
These Junipers can handle pretty heavy pruning. Some nurseries charge a lot more for a spiral topiary Blue Point Juniper but it would be pretty easy for you to do it yourself. Junipers are very forgiving. They are also drought-tolerant once established.
