Blue Rug Juniper Planting & Care
To create a lush, evergreen ground cover, plant Blue Rug Juniper about 4 feet apart. This Juniper can handle most soil conditions, including sandy, loamy & hard packed clay. The key is to plant it where the soil drains well and the area gets a lot of sun.
This is not a ground cover for areas that might get a lot of foot traffic. Blue Rug Creeping Juniper is also very popular because it literally doesn’t need pruning. The only time you would ever want to prune is if it is growing over an area you don’t want it on. Unwanted excess foliage can be pruned away any time of the year.
