Description
Rose Creek Abelia is considered a pretty tough shrub when it comes to withstanding a variety of conditions. Afternoon sun, under a shade tree, little water (once established), they will thrive in these conditions. The Rose Creek Abelia foliage has been described as almost shimmering. The stems are red but then turn to a dark green as they get older and transform to a purple tone in winter.
White Rose Creek Abelia flowers are small but slightly aromatic. They are not a huge feature. At a height of 2 to 3 feet, Rose Creek Abelia is a perfect size for low hedges and foundation plantings.
Rose Creek Abelia can handle some pretty aggressive pruning. If they spread out a little more than you want, you can prune away some of the undergrowth and any new stems that are taking off above the others. Pruning is okay most of the year except when flowering.
