Autumn Royalty Makes a Great Evergreen Hedge With Months of Colorful Blooms
With blooms for 3 seasons, Autumn Royalty Encore Azalea would make a colorful medium size hedge. It would also look good along foundations, as a border or grouped together with other Encore Azaleas in a natural setting.
Autumn Royalty is a purple re-blooming Rhododendron. In fact, it is the only purple azalea that blooms spring, summer and fall. Deep green foliage year round. Autumn Royalty was voted Azalea of the Year in 2004 by the American Rhododendron Society.
Autumn Royalty Encore Azalea care is pretty easy once established. It prefers acidic soil. You can usually find azalea fertilizer at your local garden center. Sometimes it is referred to as Rhododendron food. Bark mulch is best because most are acidic. A layer of 2 to 3 inches of mulch is recommended.
