Ligustrum - Privet
Privets are part of the higher classification of ligustrum. They are used frequently as privacy hedges for their dense foliage and handling of pruning. There are varieties that range from 4 feet to 15 feet tall. Some varieties have golden and variegated foliage. Small white flowers don't offer much for ornamental value but they do attract pollinators. They are not evergreen in colder climates. There are also some states that consider privets invasive.
